Our galtian overlords like to see themselves as gods and we all know from reading Greek tragedies that gods can be very sensitive. The idea that people out there might disagree with them is very upsetting to them so they choose to create less jobs.

Ah, missed that angle. Sort of like Odysseus pissing off Poisidon, the OWS folks have offended against a lessor God but the great god Bloomburg wants a united front.
